Laredo Outdoor Activities
Laredo temperatures can reach sky high in the summertime-averaging over 100° Fahrenheit. While nature lovers will not want to miss the awesome state park and outdoor views, the small neighborhood parks are not as populated. Instead, check out the recreation centers that the city of Laredo offers, where you can exercise and play games with the comfort of fans and A/C.
Located on Lake Casa Blanca in east Webb County, Lake Casa Blanca International State Park
consists of 371 acres of land and 1,650 lake surface acres. A popular vacation spot for winter Texans, the park offers campgrounds, picnic sites with barbecue pits, restroom facilities, two playgrounds, sports courts and fields, a boat ramp and trails. Enjoy time outdoors, swimming, fishing, skiing or mountain biking in the park.

Come by Northeast Hillside Recreational Center
for some indoor recreation. Use the gymnasium, weight room or multi-purpose room for your own independent activities, or participate in an event in one of the classrooms. You might not be outdoors, but you can still play ballgames or run outside for some fresh air. Just be sure to come back inside to cool off.

After paying a one-time fee of $5, you will have full access to the Cigarroa Recreation Center
's indoor gym. This includes use of the exercise machines, indoor basketball court and boxing gym. There is also a swimming pool, playground, baseball field and running trail located outdoors. Additional activities and events include aerobics, boxing and Taekwondo classes.
