History buffs will not want to miss the opportunity to explore Fort McIntosh, built in the aftermath of the Mexican War in 1849 and retired in 1947. Since its closing, Fort McIntosh has become part of the Laredo Community College main campus. However, it is still open to the public for tours.

Conducted in English and Spanish, these guided tours are a great way to become familiar with this 255-year old city.
